I just watched The Kingdom and I just hated the movie. It had no depth whatsoever. Just some boring piece of crap which patronizes America for all the wrong reasons. I was excited to watch it because Jennifer Garner would be in the film. Bad choice mehn..
The Double Standards: 1) When American Soldiers get killed, it's the worst thing that can happen in the world. But when they do the killing, they're heroes. 2) America shows the figures of its soldiers who've been killed. They never show how many people they've killed. 3) They mind all the other countries' interests but no one can question theirs. 4) When they declare War against another country it's called "self-defense". When the other countries retaliate it's called terrorism. 5) How come the movie The Last Samuria wasn't well-received? It's because it showed the bad side of America. How come Seabiscuit was nominated for Best Motion Picture in the Academy Awards? Well duh. It's about how Americans defied The Great Depression. I'm not all Anti-American or whatever. Hello, I use their products. But they shouldn't think that they're the saviors of this world because they're not. They should learn to stick to their own business. You think they help all these poor countries but they're really out there to exploit what little resources these poor, unfortunate countries have. So to all Filipinos you who say that it's a good thing you've migrated there to get away from all the problems here (most recently the Manila Penn/Trillanes brouhaha), remember where you came from. Don't bash it. Besides, you're still second class citizens there no matter what you do. Am I willing to live the American Dream? No thanks. :: +Memory :: Tell a Friend :: 4 replies :: Reply Eddie Miranda, our driver, passed away today due to a hemorrhage in his brain. He has worked for my dad for about 18 years so that means he must be one tough cookie, not to mention a loyal and avid worker. The thing I admire about him is how he raised his kids. Yes, that’s how close my family is to him; close enough to know things about his family. Like how his eldest son, Kuya Arnel, quit schooling so that he can help his father send his siblings to school. And how his kids excel in school. It says a lot about the character of this simple man. To help you grasp a picture of how he has affected our family, here are some reasons we’ll miss him…
My mom will miss him because no one will push the cart for her while she’s in the supermarket. She doesn’t have her 24/7 super driver anymore. My ate will miss him due to her lack of sense of direction. My younger sister will miss him because he waits patiently for her every time she goes out. And if you know my younger sister, you’ll know I mean lots of patience. My brother will miss him because he always made sure that my brother’s Gameboy DS Lite is always in the car when he picks him up. Also because he always looked after my brother during his golf and badminton training sessions as well as his KUMON classes. Check this out: Kuya Eddie would borrow P100 from one of our maids everyday so that if my brother asks for money, he has some to give. How sweet is that? I’ll miss him for a number of reasons. No one will give water to me and my teammates whenever he’s around for training or games. No one will make sure to gas up and check my car before I leave the house. No one will open the door for me whenever I go inside the car. Whenever my parents stay late in the office, he waits for them to come home before he leaves. Maybe it’s because he wants to make sure the cars are parked properly. But I choose to think that he did this ritually because he cares enough. So here’s to you Kuya Eddie. Wherever you may be, you should know that you’ve touched our lives more than you can ever imagine. To whoever’s gonna replace him: you better do a good job… Why do people like posting their grades? I mean how grade conscious(GC) can you get? I'm not targeting anyone. To me it's just pointless.
I was minding my own business and stopped for a pothole. Guess what. I jeepney rammed into me. You know what's even better? It was my mom's car. Just great. Real juicy. The nerve of that asshole to curse at me.
Jeepney driver: "tangina mo" How appalling!! That asshole had the nerve to curse at me. Me: “Gago ka pala eh! You can’t even pay for this shit!!” Then he ran away. Great story huh. Can I just say that I want all jeepneys to be banned. I mean c’mon, they pollute the place, they cause traffic, they DAMAGE your car, they’re just not logical to use. And the drivers. I want them to all die. They don’t have enough income, they’re on welfare which means they use up the taxes responsible people give. And don’t give me that bullshit that poor people need jeepneys. What we need is an organized system composed of buses/shuttles and all. Hello, take for example America, poor people can afford to commute. If other countries can have that same system? On the driver’s case, I want them to die because they have no purpose in life. They make kids whom they can’t afford to give good education. All they do is litter and pollute the place. They’re not productive at all. Why am I such a elitist? Go figure why the Philippines is deteriorating. It’s because there are more people who are on welfare compared to those who work. Let them go rot in hell. That’s just too bad. What the hell are they gonna do in life? There are only a few exceptions who come out of the shithole that they're in. The rest of them will just have to die. Life’s survival of the fittest. If you’re weak, you’re out. It’s that simple. That’s how animals live, and whatever you say, we’re still animals... My first UAAP game in a day and a half. I don't even know why I'm making such a big deal out of this. Argh. Get a grip Fio, you've been playing for 8 freakin years. Hahaha. Wish the Lady Maroons luck :D
UP has been fine. I think I need to pull up my grades though. Yep, I'm still a nerd. Hehehe People say I don't look like a freshie. Hmmm. At least I don't look like a dork who's lost right. I want my English One Prof to shut up. Plus that recitative girl is getting on my nerves. Enough ranting. Hahaha. I like my Geography Prof. She's a potential friend outside the classroom. Plus, she's game all the time. Math 17 is making me head throb. Tsk tsk. I miss my Zobel friends. I miss seeing all those faces in one place. Visit us in Katipunan! Hahaha. I miss my Magic 7. Wish we could all be together at some place again. :D Can I just say that so much has been happening in the past few weeks and I'm really glad for this chance to relax (sort of).
First up, I want to thank everyone who made it to my debut! :D Thanks for being there period. It made that much of the difference. I hope you all had fun :D Special mention to Miss Anna Oposa, who my dad thinks is good enough for EAT BULAGA (WTF?! Hahaha). She actually made me cry. Thanks to Rox, her accompanist and one of the best guitarists I know. Thanks to Maix for the effort of actually making a video for me. It really meant a lot. Thanks to my family who surprised me with a dance number of their own. I have the cutest brother ever! Thanks to Kuya Buboy for attending and giving me the coolest gift!! And I will never forget julie and Kirk's performance. I rocked my world. Hahaha ;p Next, we have UP. The things I like about it: 1) You're own your own, 2) There are enough Zobel people to keep you company from time to time, 3) The campus, 4) My new found friends, 5) My teammates. The things I don't: 1) Profs who don't show up and then give you a shitload of homework just to compensate for the lost time, 2) The facilities (oh my gawd), 3) The freakin long lines (UP= Unibersidad ng PILA), 4) There aren't a lot of suitable tall men. UAAP's coming up. Let's go UP! I'm really anxious and I don't know why. I haven't been like this for an Opening since forever. Hope that's a good thing. God save me. I'm taking me First Long Exam in Math 17. RARRRRRR So here goes...
RULES The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird things/habits about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a blog of their 6 weird habits/things, as well as state this rule clearly.. in the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.. 1. I group my underwear: there's undies for basketball, for formal attire, for going out, for lollygagging, et al. 2. I only use one type of pen for taking down notes (Pilot Super Grip 3. I have to use a pencil for solving math problems. If I don't, I'd probably fail :o 4. I tend to smell people's scents, do not ask me about that. Hahaha 5. I have a "silent laugh" 6. I don't eat Mcdo. HAHAHA Everyone: Tag! :D Hey Jahan,
We've never been close. I don't know you well and I think the feeling's mutual. I just want to let you know that your gonna eat up everything you said. It's just too bad that you didn't say these stuff before we graduated. It would have made things a lot clearer. Too bad you just weren't man enough. Au Revoir Somewhere behind the athlete you've become and the hours of practice, and the coaches who push you, and the teammates who believe in you, and the fans who cheer for you, is the little girl who shot the ball, the one who fell in love with the game, and never looked back. Play for her.
Thanks shoogie. This is just what I needed. You're the best! :D Who knew that I would spend my whole summer waking up at 5am just to run my ass off?
Who knew that I would get along with my teammates(MC people)? Who knew that I would actually miss Alabang/Zobel as much as I do now? Who knew that I wouldn't be able to hang out with my friends most of the time (RARR :c)? Who knew that I would live in Katipunan this summer? Who knew that I would actually be excited to go the the States? Who knew that I would be so stressed out because of planning my "debut"? ...I certainly didn't |
